The automobile company Mercedes-Benz and Russia Fashion Week are going into partnership. This week a contract will be signed between Juergen Sauer, Mercedes-Benz Russia CEO and Alexander Shumsky, the general producer of Russian Fashion Week, that will change Russia Fashion Week’s title to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia for three years.

The title Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is almost synonymous with New York Fashion Week, but it is actually also the title of German Fashion Week (Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin) and Miami’s (Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami).

Not that Russian Fashion Week needs any help – it is already the most important fashion event in the whole Eastern Europe where former Soviet Union designers and famed international ones show their collections to a crowd of the rich, stylish and fabulous. But it will definitely help gain more exposure for Russian designers.

Incidentally, the collection in the photos – L.P. by Poustovit Spring 2011 – is now being sold in Dolce&Gabbana new “Spiga2″ boutique in Milan.
