Carine Roitfeld Was Ousted Of French Vogue Over Tom Ford Issue

Carine Roitfeld Was Ousted Of French Vogue Over Tom Ford Issue

Apparently Carine Roitfeld's decision to resign as the editor in chief of French Vogue wasn't purely Roitfeld's way to express her whimsy and punk rock demeanor.

According to Cathy Horyn, the bosses (and Franca Sozzani) were quite unhappy, to say the least, with French Vogue December 2010 issue guest-edited by Tom Ford. Even advertisers were upset and complained to Condé Nast - and that was it for Roitfeld. She offered to resign as a symbolic gesture and the bosses at Condé Nast took her up on that offer.

Carine Roitfeld tells Horyn her side of the story, "Maybe, maybe. Everybody has an opinion. Before, it wasn’t a problem, and anyway the magazine was doing very well. It’s difficult to work with a ...

Kirsten Dunst Is The Face Of Bulgari New Fragrance Mon Jasmin Noir

Bulgari has a new fragrance launching this April - Mon Jasmin Noir - and a new face as well. Kirsten Dunst has just been announced as the new face of Bulgari.

The announcement comes in stark contrast to Dunst's recent stint modeling for a indie darling Band Of Outsiders lookbook (in the photo) that was revealed a few days ago.

Incidentally, Julianne Moore, who has been Bulgari's face up until Fall 2010, has got a new gig as the face of Talbot's Spring 2011 campaign.

Prabal Gurung Fall 2011 Swarovski Adorned Collection Preview

Prabal Gurung Fall 2011 runway show is still a few days away, but before that happens take a look at a preview of the collection embellished with Swarovski crystals. That's quite a change of pace since Gurung's highly acclaimed Spring 2011 collection which was very minimal with cut and color as it's only detail.

The new collection, Gurung tells Style, "draws on romantic styles seen throughout Victorian times with a slightly savage, street-wise edge."

Tuleste Market For Ruffian Fall 2011 Runway Shoes Sneak Peek

According to the Daily Front Row, the sketch is of a Tuleste Market X Ruffian Fall 2011 sandals dubbed Smoke & Mirrors and will retail for $395.

Russian Fashion Week Changes Name To Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia

Russian Fashion Week Changes Name To Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia

The automobile company Mercedes-Benz and Russia Fashion Week are going into partnership. This week a contract will be signed between Juergen Sauer, Mercedes-Benz Russia CEO and Alexander Shumsky, the general producer of Russian Fashion Week, that will change Russia Fashion Week's title to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia for three years.

The title Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is almost synonymous with New York Fashion Week, but it is actually also the title of German Fashion Week (Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin) and Miami's (Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami).

Not that Russian Fashion Week needs any help - it is already the most important fashion event in the whole Eastern Europe where former Soviet Union designers and famed international ones show their collections to a crowd ...

Villionaire By Richie Rich Runway Show Is Open To Public

Villionaire By Richie Rich Runway Show Is Open To Public

For Fall 2011 Richie Rich takes the concept of democratization of fashion to the next level.

"Villionaire", Richie Rich describes, "is Marie Antoinette reincarnated into the East Village. She is an exploration of the true New York female renegade; from 20's prohibition to 80's pure punk." Villionaire, you see, is the name of the Richie Rich Fall 2011 collection.

The internet and fast fashion brands have brought fashion to the masses. With even the biggest of brands streaming their runway shows live - you can virtually attend a Jason Wu or a Gucci show out of the comfort of your own bedroom. But how about really attending a fashion show - part of the official New York Fashion Week schedule no ...

B Brian Atwood Fall 2011 Diffusion Line Preview

New York Fashion Week is almost upon us and so is the unveiling the Brian Atwood's highly anticipated diffusion line - B Brian Atwood. WWD got a little sneak peek of the forthcoming shoe collection priced significantly lower than Atwood's signature line - a celebrity darling worn by the likes of Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Hudson.

B Brian Atwood, priced at $100 for sandals and the higher $650 for boots (albeit diffusion, this is still a high quality designer line after all), the collection will consist of 35 - 45 styles.

There are already several confirmed retailers that picked up the B Brian Atwood. Saks Fifth Avenue is one of course, and so are Barney's, Fred Segal and
