Will Manish Arora Head Paco Rabanne Womenswear?

Paco Rabanne is making all the stops necessary for a big comeback. The legendary fashion house of Paco Rabanne was huge in the 60's when Paco Rabanne himself was designing the collections. He was known for avant-garde futurism and using unconventional materials, metal being his favorite. Like many Parisian fashion houses of that time, Paco Rabanne has slowly lost it's steam until finally shuttering in 2006 with fragrances remaining the only Paco Rabanne product still on the market. With such big history and expectations attached to the Paco Rabanne name, the comeback has to be big and bold.

Hilary Swank Is The Latest Celebrity Fashion Designer

Hilary Swank is currently looking for the perfect designer to team up with to create a contemporary sporty fashion line. If it sounds familiar is it because recently Heidi Klum teamed up with New Balance to create a contemporary sporty fashion line.

Creating a line of jersey basics is probably the easiest line one could create. And thanks to a high profit margin - a highly lucrative one. Especially with a celebrity endorsement behind it.

Swank is currently working with DMA Designers Management Agency at interviewing fashion designers to team up with to create the line.

Young Hollywood Takes Over High Fashion: Leighton, Blake, Rumer, January

Alright, so maybe January Jones is a bit older than the other three. Still, one has to ask, why are high fashion houses suddenly obsessed with Hollywood 'It' girls? And who is behind it?

Leighton Meester is the most recent high-fashion-gone-Hollywood announcement. Meester will be the face of Missoni Spring 2011 ad campaign. The announcement comes after last week we learned that her Gossip Girl co-star, Blake Lively, will be the face of Chanel Spring 2011 handbags ad campaign and Rumer Willis, Bruce Willis' daughter, will head the forthcoming Badgley Mischka campaign. The images of January Jones for Versace Spring 2011 handbags ad campaign are already out.

Perhaps the choice of Leighton Meester and Blake Lively for Chanel ...

Carine Roitfeld Quits French Vogue After Ten Years

In a rather surprising move Carine Roitfeld announced today that she will leave French Vogue (or Vogue Paris as some call it) at the end of January after ten years on the job. I guess she won't be replacing Anna Wintour anytime soon.

Roitfeld tells Cathy Horyn she doesn't leave the magazine on bad terms. The job simply got to comfortable for her, so she wishes to keep challenging herself and pursue other projects. Roitfeld explains, "I had so much freedom to do everything I wanted. I think I did a good job. When everything is good, maybe I think it’s the time to do something else."

Jonathan Newhouse, ceo of Condé Nast International, says of Carine Roitfeld, "Carine herself has become ...

Temperley London Returns To London Fashion Week For Fall 2011

Alice Temperley last showed her Temperley London line in London two years ago. For the past four seasons she's opted for doing simple presentations in New York. However, as Temperley London's 10th anniversary approaches, for Fall 2011 Temperley will stage a runway show during London Fashion Week in February.

"We have tremendously enjoyed working with different creative teams for the last four seasons in New York, showcasing our collection in new and novel ways," Alice Temperley said. "However, we belong here in London, being a true British brand, and are delighted to be back and showing for our 10th-year celebrations."

Marc Jacobs Honored At 2010 FIAF Trophée des Arts

Marc Jacobs' work for Louis Vuitton did not go unnoticed by the French and so last Thursday he was honored with the Trophée des Arts award for his contribution to French fashion by French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF). The 2010 FIAF Trophée des Arts award was presented to him by Anna Wintour.

Jacobs said of the win, "I’m lucky to have this great job at Louis Vuitton. I can’t put [what I love about Paris] into one thing. It’s an ephemeral feeling, I feel happy and comfortable there. It’s the physical city, the lifestyle, the wine, the art."

Since 1992, each year the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) chooses an American honoree who contributes to the French culture thus bringing the French ...
