Loeffler Randall Bridal Collection Launches Today

Loeffler Randall Bridal Collection Launches Today

Jessie Randall, Loeffler Randall's creative director and designer has been creating one-off wedding shoes for friends and customers as favors for years. This season she finally decided to make it official and created a special bridal collection, reworking the downtown appeal of styles from seasons past into becoming more wedding appropriate.

Randall's bridal collection has something for every type of bride. From traditionally white stiletto booties ($625) to the more edgy metallic snakeskin ($595) and whimsical nude flats ($295). To be quite honest, you don't have to be a bride to fall in love with the nude flats that have a great vintage vibe and spring potential to them.

Anna Sui For TheOutnet Dress Collection To Debut This Thursday

Anna Sui For TheOutnet Dress Collection To Debut This Thursday

TheOutnet, Net-A-Porter's discount designer online boutique, scored quite the collaboration. Anna Sui designed a lower-priced collection for TheOutnet which is set to debut on the website this Thursday.

Anna Sui For TheOutnet collection consists of 15 styles of dresses, from star print tunics for day to demi hand-drawn floral print shifts for night. The wide range of dresses priced at the $193 to $253 range is not based on Sui's signature collection so at not to compete with it but does convey the designer's quirky style.

Ann Demeulemeester Fall 2011 Where The Wild Things Are

Ann Demeulemeester Fall 2011 Where The Wild Things Are

Three Cousin Its walked the runway at Ann Demeulemeester Fall 2011 runway show. It is not to say it came as a total surprise, Demeulemeester's entire collection was generously embellished with horse hair, creating a very raw, Gothic vibe. The three full length fur looks following one another mid show seemed like a combination of horse and goat hair. How devilish!

Hussein Chalayan Fall 2011 “Kaikoku” Collection Film

Hussein Chalayan Fall 2011 “Kaikoku” Collection Film

Kaikoku - "Open society" in Japanese. That is the name of Hussein Chalayan's recent Fall 2011 collection. Besides showing a presentation and creating a look book, the designer also created a film. Whether you can call it a short film is debatable when it comes to fashion films - it's 19 minutes long. A play on models walking the collection in a smokey space, shadows and darkened silhouettes. Some very sharp coats and double breasted jackets live alongside the more deconstructed and asymmetric pieces in this collection, while simple dresses in mute prints complete it.

Formichetti’s Mugler Fall 2011: Lady Gaga Runway Walk And Other Good Things

Formichetti’s Mugler Fall 2011: Lady Gaga Runway Walk And Other Good Things

After much anticipation, buzz and heavy internet promotion, Nicola Formichetti's debut womenswear collection for Mugler Fall 2011 finally happened yesterday. The who-is-who of fashion world was in the front row and many more watching the runway stream live on Mugler's Facebook page. Besides directing it musically, Lady Gaga also walked the runway for two looks - doing her best impersonating a 90's supermodel.

As far as the clothes go, I cannot help but feel a bit disappointed. With so much PR, one would expect the debut collection looks to be ... more. Strong shouldered body-con dresses and rubber bras is not something we haven't seen before - created by Formichetti for Lady Gaga in the past. Some of the pieces, like ...

Prada Fall 2011 Collection Is About Going Back To Naiveté

Prada Fall 2011 Collection Is About Going Back To Naiveté

Cartoonish oversize buttons, belt buckles, lapels and graphics prints. Such is the world according to Miuccia Prada for Fall 2011. And a very drastic turn from Prada Fall 2010 as well. If this fall we enjoyed plunging necklines, bustiers and hourglass figures, next fall we'll be reconnecting to the little girl in us, wearing drop waist over-the-knee dresses with oversize details mentioned above.

As far as outerwear goes, the coats were cut in the same silhouette as the dresses - made out of snake print leather or embellished with fur. For evening, Prada Fall 2011 played with big semi-lucid paillettes creating ethereal shift dresses in fish-scale effect.

While some of the details might seem outlandish, the collection was mostly very wearable - ...

Gucci Fall 2011 Collection Is All Shades Of 70′s

Gucci Fall 2011 Collection Is All Shades Of 70′s

For Gucci Fall 2011 collection, Frida Giannini chose not to leave the 70's - trend that began already in Spring 2011. Thus, while not revolutionary, the looks were full of glamour and sensuality, yet completely wearable. Sure some of the day dresses sported a risqué front slit and the evening dresses were as sheer as they can get, paired with matching panties; but, let's not forget that we live in a era where pop starlets find it completely legitimate leaving the house without any bottoms.

For day, Giannini envisioned the Gucci girl in a lot of fur - be it fur stoles paired with dresses, fur trim on jackets, or jackets simply made of fur. We can't of course ignore that ...

Loeffler Randall And Suno Collaborated On New Fall 2011 Shoes

Loeffler Randall And Suno Collaborated On New Fall 2011 Shoes

Suno have presented their Fall 2011 collection a few weeks ago and besides a myriad of wonderful prints, it also included shoes from a new Loeffler Randall For Suno collaboration. With no flats in sight, these Loeffler Randall For Suno Fall 2011 shoes were all towering wedges. Some made of black or beige suede, others made with a distinctive Suno print either in gold, purple or bright blue.

"Since we had such a successful collaboration for Spring," says Jessie Randall, president and creative director of Loeffler Randall, "Suno and LR decided to work together again for Fall 2011. This was collaboration in the true sense of the word - bringing Suno's beautiful, distinctive prints together with our simple and modern shoe ...

Mary Katrantzou Fall 2011 Collection Still Has Print Magic

Mary Katrantzou Fall 2011 Collection Still Has Print Magic

Mary Katrantzou's Spring 2011 collection was a raving success. Her colorful multi-dimensional prints even won her the 2010 Swiss Textiles Award. So you might have thought to yourself, what will Katrantzou do for Fall 2011? Top herself, apparently. We could call last season... a little taste of what she can do.

While the lampshade skirts and trompe l'oeil prints felt all too familiar at times, Fall 2011 collection had so much more to offer. With great sensibility in mind, we now have separates; skirts, zip or blazer jackets, pants; and looser silhouettes. The prints and colors are still there, but now they are buyer friendly. My standing ovation has to go to the small fauna print pant-suit and the flowing purple ...

Naeem Khan Fall 2011 Collection Is Red Carpet Glamour On The Silk Road

Naeem Khan Fall 2011 Collection Is Red Carpet Glamour On The Silk Road

It is no coincidence that the Naeem Khan Fall 2011 collection, coming just before the Oscars, is filled with breath taking red carpet looks. Steering clear of stiff and over-the-top silhouettes, Khan's point of view is simple, chic and powerful.

Flowing gowns made of light-as-air fabric, embroidered with an easy hand will surely make any woman feel confident and glamorous. Ethnic references were light this time; Ikat embroidery here, ethnic ornamentation there. You would think that ostrich feathers looks towards the end of the show would get the crowds going, but what really got the crowd's standing ovation was the flowing gold embroidered caftan.

Watch the video I shot for a full impression of the collection or skip to the last few ...
