Norman Ambrose Fall 2011 Collection Is 70′s Luxury And Glamour Chic

Norman Ambrose Fall 2011 Collection Is 70′s Luxury And Glamour Chic

Norman Ambrose staged his Fall 2011 collection presentation in a classic Vogue photo-shoot composition. Some of models were seated on white cubes, some standing on ladders and others simply standing, striking a pose. With such amazing lighting - the setting called to take out your camera and start clicking away. Playing into the show, Mr. Ambrose would walk up to the models once in a while and fix up the little things - a tuck here, a bow there. Not that he needed to, everything was perfect.

For his Fall 2011 day looks, Norman Ambrose was clearly inspired by the 70's. Not the free-spirited boho that spilled over from the 60's, but the sophisticated and glamorous side of things where high-waisted ...

Rodarte For Opening Ceremony Spring 2011 Collection Launch And Lookbook

Rodarte For Opening Ceremony Spring 2011 Collection Launch And Lookbook

The highly anticipated Rodarte For Opening Ceremony collection collaboration was launched today. A very striking and colorful look book featuring Laura Love, photographed by Autumn de Wilde is accompanying the collection launch.

Rodarte For Opening Ceremony Spring 2011 collection is loosely based on Rodarte's signature Spring 2011 collection - undoubtedly pieces like pleated skirts or draped dresses will look familiar.

This spring collaboration includes a myriad of products - apparel, shoes, bags, intimates, tights, jewelry, sunglasses - you name it. The lowest priced items in the collection are the tattoo tights - retailing for $110, then we have sunglasses at the $220 - $255 range, shoes and bags priced at $680 to $1,035 and all the way up to $2,730 for ...

H&M Conscious Collection: Top Ten Items Worth Your Money

H&M Conscious Collection: Top Ten Items Worth Your Money

H&M Conscious Collection hits the stores in what seems right now like a long time - April 14th, but the hype already begins to build up. White shades and minimalistic silhouettes, so on point with both the current New York Spring 2011 trend and the sustainability and organics trend. All at the price range of $10 to $60 - what's not to like?

With such strong emphasis on romantic lace and Broderie Anglaise, not all pieces are as stylish as one would hope them to be. Some cross the barrier of coolness into the Little-House-On-The-Prairie territory. But others, like the clean and crisp looking blazers at $50 a piece, are just waiting for you to grab them off the rack. ...

David Koma for Topshop Capsule Collection

David Koma for Topshop Capsule Collection

David Koma's monochrome, futuristic and geometric collections he regularly shows at London Fashion Week are pop-star favorites. You've seen his looks on the likes of Rihanna, Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue and Cheryl Cole. And now you'll get the chance to own a David Koma as well, David Koma For Topshop that is.

The David Koma for Topshop capsule collection is comprised of five pieces. At the count of only thirty of each piece, this is probably one of the most limited-edition and expensive collections Topshop produced so far. As Koma's designs are highly structural and involve metal piping details the pieces come at a high price. The cheapest David Koma For Topshop item you can get is the belt with metal-tubes detail ...

Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011 Haute Couture Is A Plethora Of Cultural References

Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011 Haute Couture Is A Plethora Of Cultural References

Jean Paul Gaultier paid a homage to the old days of Haute Couture by leaving out the obligatory soundtrack. With total quiet as a backdrop, the only sound you could hear as the models came and went on the runway was the voice of Catherine Deneuve reading out look descriptions written by Paquita Paquin.

Cabaret meets punk, you could say of Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011 Haute Couture collection. But it was so much more. The collection was an eclectic mix of all things chic. True, all the models were styled with punk hair and cabaret-esque fishnet stockings. But then you also had some of them seductively holding a cigarette mouthpiece, so typical of the 20's.

In a mood for some Ethnic ...

Givenchy Spring 2011 Haute Couture Collection Channels Japanese Transformers

Givenchy Spring 2011 Haute Couture maybe only consists of ten looks, but each took thousands of hours of painstaking toil to complete. Despite the small size of the collection, Riccardo Tisci promises there will ever be only one of each, no duplicates. Each dress will be customized in accordance to the customer's wishes.

Ten looks. Never to be seen on the runway. As in the previous season, guests were invited to Hotel d'Evreux in the Place Vendôme for an intimate presentation. It was the only way one could truly appreciate the delicacy and intricacy of the details - yards upon yards of delicate fabric, thousands of sequins and hand-painted tulle.

Riccardo Tisci hired all Asian models for the presentation which can only ...

Chanel Spring 2011 Haute Couture Collection Is The Black Swan and Virgin Suicides All In One

Chanel Spring 2011 Haute Couture Collection Is The Black Swan and Virgin Suicides All In One

At first glance, looking at Chanel Spring 2011 Haute Couture collection, "cute," might slip off the tip of the tongue. It is as the show progresses, as one look revealed after another, that you understand the genius that is Karl Lagerfeld.

Short double-breasted trapeze suits and Jacky-O-neck coats slowly give way to etherial light-as-air skirts and dresses. With 67 looks in the collection, Lagerfeld brings the balance between constructed and frayed, fluid silhouettes to perfection. Frosty baby pinks, creams and blues, contrasting black and rather interestingly constructed flats make references to the ballet world evident. Rich in detail, every bead and sequin is in it's rightful place - a painstaking toil I'm sure.

Chanel Spring 2011 Haute Couture collection masterfully leaves you in ...

Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2011 Haute Couture Is Shimmering With Glamour

Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2011 Haute Couture Is Shimmering With Glamour

Gold metal-band belts scooping up draped flowing dresses with strong shoulders is not something Alexandre Vauthier hasn't done before, but what's different about the new Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2011 Haute Couture collection is the color palette. Letting go of the monochromatic strong-shouldered uniform already in the previous season, Vauthier filled this season with cream, sand and murky shimmering satins and gold lamé, throwing in a geometric print for good measure.

Albeit still strong willed, the Alexandre Vauthier woman is more of a glamour goddess rather than a dangerous femme fatale from seasons past. A lonesome black velvet cutout gown reminding her who she once were and a band of dramatic light-color flowing gowns with deep side-slits symbolizing who she is today. ...

Prada Modifies Spring 2011 Collection For First Show In Beijing

Prada Modifies Spring 2011 Collection For First Show In Beijing

Models walked down the Prada Spring 2011 runway in Beijing on Saturday - a first show of it's kind. Studded with Chinese and Hong Kong actresses (like Maggie Cheung and Gong Li) and celebrities, the event could only be crowned as a success and one of many to come.

But these weren't the Prada Spring 2011 looks that you and I already saw a few months ago. No, sequins and luxurious leather took over the once simple cotton and canvas. You see, the Chinese clientele Miuccia Prada is after - the ones with new money - don't want minimalism. They want their money worth. They want sequins instead of cotton and silk and leather instead of canvas. Sequins were added to ...

Armani Prive Spring 2011 Haute Couture Collection Is Techno Meets The Orient

Armani Prive Spring 2011 Haute Couture Collection Is Techno Meets The Orient

Light years away from Giorgio Armani's previous Armani Prive collection of classic glamour in beige and camel color pallet, the new Armani Prive Spring 2011 Haute Couture collection is probably what women will wear in a time when we can actually travel at the speed of light.

The collection is as innovative as it is rooted in cultural concepts we've known for decades and centuries. If you weren't a club kid in the 90's, you must have at least watched MTV (90's were the golden years of the currently culturally bankrupt music channel) and will recognize the iridescent technical fabrics and stiff strapless tube dresses. The Orient was evident in the looks as well, be it in the Vietnamese hats, the ...
